Spring weather brings on more dog bites

Posted by Sandra Worthington | Mar 19, 2013 | 0 Comments

It makes complete sense that more people are bitten by dogs in the Spring and Summer months because more people are outside.  Irresponsible dog owners who allow their dogs to wander without a leash subject innocent victims to the danger of being attacked.  Children are probably more at risk than adults because they are more likely to see a wandering dog as a large toy than a hazard.  Even the most mild mannered dog may be incited to bite by children on swings or running bases.

If you or anyone you know is attacked by a dog, whether bitten, knocked down or otherwise physically injured, you should contact an experienced dog bite attorney to find out who will pay your bills.  It is critical that you take photos of the injuries as well as of the dog who attacked, if you can do so without placing yourself in danger.  Do the best you can to identify the dog's owner.  Get immediate medical attention to avoid rabies or infection.  Call an experienced dog bite lawyer to find out what you should and should not do.  Many intelligent, honest people believe the insurance adjuster wants to help them get their bills paid.  In truth, the insurance adjuster wants to get all the evidence he or she can to destroy any legal claim you may have.  Do not call just any personal injury lawyer-call one with a lot of experience in dog bite cases!
