Woman Attacked By Two Pitbull Mix Dogs In Bucks County
July 2024
We represented a lovely elderly lady who was savagely attacked by two recued pitbull/boxer mix dogs that had escaped the neighbor's yard. The neighbor, who had a prior dog listed on the Dangerous Dog List, did not properly contain her dogs on her yard, depending on a neighbor's deteriorated fencing as one side of her enclosure. These two new rescues were not being supervised and were loose for probably over an hour even though their owner was in the house.
Our client was innocently walking her precious little dog in the neighborhood when suddenly these two vicious dogs charged her little pup. As any dog lover would likely do, this lady dropped to the ground to cover her little dog while the two other dogs bit at her arms, back and legs trying to get at her dog. They got hold of the little dog who, by the grace of god, survived after surgery. By chance, this brutal attack was caught on a neighbor's Ring video system. The footage and audio, almost unwatchable, told the entire story with graphic clarity. After over $13,000 in vet bills and permanent scars to our client's wrists and thigh, we forced the insurance company to pay nearly $160,000. We achieved this result without the client having to suffer through a trial that would have traumatized her further. Note that the attacking dogs' owner elected to have both dogs put down. We believe her homeowner's insurance would have been cancelled had she not.
