The new road design on Bethlehem Pike in Flourtown is quite controversial. Since the main office of Worthington Law Group is right in the middle of all of that at the Black Horse Inn, I think I have a valid opinion. I experience driving to my main office most days and can say that it can be incredibly annoying to try to make a left turn heading south on Bethlehem Pike and facing the mile long, seemingly never-ending line of traffic heading north. The rare driver will pause to let me turn left into the parking lot. But the really good thing about the new design is that is slows down traffic considerably on a dangerous segment of highway. Where previously people would fly past at 45 or even 50 mph in the double lanes, now traffic has slowed down in some parts to 20-35 miles per hour. I guarantee you there will be fewer accidents and fewer pedestrians and cyclists injured. This is worth the slow annoying traffic.
Nevertheless, there are very confusing areas where white thin lines have been painted on the road and are confusing. Are these to later become yellow lines? Or were they drawn in error and simply not covered? It appears the roadway is no longer under construction so my guess is that the white lines are not meaningful. However, they are confusing and could cause accidents.
