Dog Bite Fatalities in 2015

Posted by Sandra Worthington | Feb 15, 2017 | 0 Comments

As reported by DogsBite.org, a national dog bite victim's organization dedicated to reducing or eliminating serious dog attacks, 34 U.S. dog attack fatalities occurred in 2015.  Pit bulls contributed to 82% (28) of these deaths.  Apparently, pit bulls, while many are sweet and docile, along with rottweilers are the country's most lethal dog breeds.  Those two breeds accounted for 91% of the total recorded fatalities in 2015.

Both breeds, of course, can be gentle as lambs if properly bred and socialized but this statistic, if accurate is quite disturbing.

I will report on some of the possible reasons in my next blog.
