Woman Severely Injured Trying To Save Her Dog From a Pitbull Attack
June 2023
We represented a lovely woman who had arrived at her fiance's home with her little poodle mix. She arrived in the driveway at the front door and let her dog out of the car to go inside. Suddenly she turned around and her dog was gone. A passing neighbor yelled to her that another dog had picked her pup up and taken it around the back of the house. She ran, panic stricken, to the back of the house where a pit bull mix dog was savagely attacking her little dog. She went to her dog's rescue, grabbing the pit bill by the mouth and trying to pull open its jaws. The pit bull put up a huge fight but the human won, albeit with bite wounds on her face, arms and hands.
As is often the case, the pit bull's owners did not apologize and did not take responsibility by offering to pay our client's $12,000 of veterinary bills and our client's ER bills. Our investigation revealed this pit bull had attacked someone else one year prior. We pursued the case against the reckless pitbull owners and got our client the $12,000 in vet bills she had to put on her credit card plus a substantial settlement for her own injuries which included faint but permanent facial scars and severe psychological trauma.
