Minor Pedestrian Hit By Car in Montgomery County PA
March 2026
A Minor girl was playing with her friends and crossed a small street to get a drink from a municipal water fountain when she was struck by a car. The driver was unfamiliar with the area and trying to find a local theater in Cheltenham township when she began driving down a one way street the wrong way and struck the girl, knocking her to the ground. The minor suffered severe road rash requiring a large skin graft, leading to permanent scarring both in the site of the injury as well as from the donor site of the graft.
We won full policy limits from the defendant's insurance plus full limits on the girl's parent's underinsured motorist coverage totalling $265,000. The Orphan's Court Judge approved the Minor's Compromise Petition and issued an Order for distribution. All funds were placed in a structured settlement which will pay out over the next decade for college and graduate school tuition plus provide a large lump sum payout at the conclusion of the girl's education.
